I’m an independent researcher working as a union representative in Tukwila, Washington. I live in West Seattle with a cat who recently chose violence.
My particular interest is in how American judges use legal arguments to regulate and deregulate identity in the United States. I’m also an internationally recognized vampire scholar.
In 2014, I co-founded the Pitt Faculty Organizing Committee—now the Union of Pitt Faculty, United Steelworkers Local 1088-04. I’m currently a rank-and-file member of Teamsters Local 763 and the Transit Riders Union.
These pages are meant to be a simple repository of my published and unpublished research: including, eventually, some writing about rhetorical strategy in labor organizing. You can reach me at odell@soundscholar.org.
